Why Listening to My System's Call to 'Stop' Completely Transformed My Week

This week started with a warning on Monday evening!

I had been working nonstop, including over the weekend- a scenario many of us know all too well: juggling tasks, responsibilities, and keeping up with the relentless pace of our busy lives.

And out of the blue, I felt a powerful urge signaling me to stop. I could almost visualise the word "Stop!" in bright neon lights accompanied by an unsettling, tingling sensation in my throat.


As the early hours of Tuesday approached, the message 'Stop' became impossible to ignore. So, I finally listened and made the decision to simply follow the instruction.

A decade ago, I would have ignored such signals without a second thought. Today, I pay attention.


A Serene Break


I had been hearing about Access Bars as a healing modality for some time, so I felt incredibly fortunate to have the wonderful Maria Cooper Gomez fit me in for a beautiful session on Tuesday afternoon.

Maria is an incredibly talented and seasoned Holistic Therapist and Energy Healing Expert, with 25 years of experience and primarily works with Access Bars and Reiki.


As an Energy Practitioner myself, I find it both beautiful and expansive to explore various healing modalities and observe how my body responds to them. Yes, I have a daily routine and I am pretty good at regulating my system. But there are those occacional times when we all want to be looked after and taken care of.


Upon entering Maria's stunning space in Belgravia, I was welcomed with warmth and immediately felt at ease. Access Bars is a modality which involves gently touching 32 points on the head. The process helps release stored energy and tension; promoting relaxation and mental clarity.

After receiving a beautiful treatment from the incredibly skilled Maria, I reached what I like to call Point Zero: fully aligned, recalibrated, and recharged, gently releasing what no longer served me.


On my way back to Canary Wharf for a coaching session, I realised I had an extra 10 to 15 minutes. It had been quite some time since I visited Belgravia. So, I decided to visit a local church, wanting to soak in the sacredness and further integrate the serenity I was experiencing.

I was lucky to discover the breathtaking St. Peter’s Church in Eton Square along the way. After entering, I sat down, absorbed its beauty and tranquil ambiance, and spent 10 minutes in meditation.


And just like that, I felt myself return: clear, grounded in my body, and ready to serve and create.


The Ripple Effect of 'Listening'


The benefits of tuning into the body’s signals are countless.

As a result of listening to my body’s call and gifting myself a serene afternoon to recalibrate, I enjoyed a remarkably clear, flowing, and productive working evening.

And an even more effective week followed.

What seemed 'heavy' at the start of the week, transformed into a 'manageable flow'. Tasks felt almost effortless.
